About:

This mobile app allows users to interact and “chat” with civil war soldiers Daniel B. Allen and Samuel C. Zinser. The user is able to select which person they would like to chat with, ask them questions, and learn more about what it was like to be a soldier during the civil war.

Background

The Special Collections at Bradley University has various documents and writings from soldiers that fought during the American Civil War. Instead of reading through all of the documents, I wanted to create a way for people to learn about the soldiers in a more fun and interactive way.

Problem

Because the collection of documents at Bradley is fairly big, it is a very time-consuming task to go though and read all of them. Many people may be interested in learning more about the war's soldiers, but may not have the time to go and read the documents in person.

Solution

Using the resources available (the soldiers's letters and diaries) within The Special Collections Archives at Bradley University, I designed a prototype for a mobile chat game.

Outcome

This project resulted in a high fidelity prototype of the mobile app.
